Opta Information Intelligence and Risk Management Services Combine Forces to Meet Evolving Needs of Canadian Insurers
05 March 2018

TORONTO (March 5, 2018) – Opta Information Intelligence (Opta) and sister company Risk Management Services (RMS) are proud to announce the integration of the two companies. Going forward we will be expanding our suite of services and innovation solutions for the Canadian Property & Casualty Insurance industry.

As members of the SCM Group of Companies, Opta and RMS will combine their wealth of data, analytical power and field expertise to form Canada’s leading property risk intelligence and loss control service, delivering a truly complete exposure control solution.

“We are very excited to integrate our teams to build on their collective expertise to further propel insurance services in Canada,” began Greg McCutcheon, who will continue to serve as President of Opta. He continued, “Through internal discussions, it became apparent there was an opportunity to provide our customers with a streamlined experience that was truly national in scope to meet their ever-changing needs.”

While Opta will remain our corporate brand, RMS will rebrand as Precise Field Services, providing residential and commercial loss control services nationwide.

Combining these two teams creates several unique opportunities to further strengthen Opta’s position as the market leader. With the addition of Precise Field Services, Opta is now nationally staffed with an unrivaled team of readily available field experts, who can gather property data in literally every region of Canada. This scale will further enhance the data quality and accuracy of Opta’s underwriting solutions.

Bob Fitzgerald, CEO of SCM, stated: “Opta, with its Precise Field Services Division, is further evidence of SCM’s commitment to help our clients deliver more value to their customers in the ongoing digital transformation of the P&C industry.”
